Weekend 11/12 February, Coppicing, checking new trees at Potterland
Meet at the foot of the new fence on Potterland Hill, 10 AM both days,
Bring billhook, bowsaw, loppers, gloves, sturdy footwear, Warm/waterproof clothes, lunch, etc.
Friday 6th Saturday 7th Sunday 8th April Easter Workshops – Details to be confirmed, but it will be a camping Musical Festival, come and bring instruments, play the Marimba, create a show and have fun.
28th April 29th April - Bushcraft Weekend
This a unique chance to attend a Bushcraft /Woodcraft course being run at Taliesin over the weekend of 28th April 29th April by George Yeomans a highly skilled Bushcraft and Mountain leader trained and licensed by Woodcraft School The two day course can be tailored to suit the group and individuals requirements, it could include:-Bushcraft tools: maintenance and safe use Fire by friction and other fire lighting methods Fire construction, maintenance and safe disposal Improvised natural materials shelters Tarp shelter systems Bushcraft knots and natural cordage Introduction to plant and tree identification through activities Basic navigation Water purification Fun activities to introduce tracking and stalking www.guidingonskye.co.uk is his website do check it out!

Courses on offer:'Music from the Woods' - Henry Fosbooke will lead a workshop on making musical instruments from
found materials at Taliesin and surrounding forest.
We will make a Forest Xylophone, whistles, drums and other instruments
We will create a woodland orchestra and have a show at the end of the weekend, this course is particularly designed for families to create together.
Adults £30 per day, 1 adult + 1 child £100 for the 3 days, additional children £10 per day (max. 2 per adult) lunches, refreshments, camping, tuition included.

Wood Carving with early instrument maker Richard Jones, particularly letter carving, learn how to use, sharpen and maintain your tools, learn how to choose your wood, create a piece of art, make a spoon, or carve your house name
We will be making an carved name board for the entrance to Taliesin so everyone can be part of this collaborative piece
3 day course for adults £120
(daily rates possible but the three day course is recommended)
Basket Making with local basket maker and creator of the annual Wickerman sculpture Trevor Leat A popular course suitable for all levels of expertise, design and make a sculptural piece or make and take home your own Easter basket!

Saturday - Wood block printing, leaf and vegetable printing, forest walks and coppice maintenance
Sunday - Wood block printing, leaf and vegetable printing. Painting eggs and Easter egg hunt!
